Since the unfortunate opening of the door to hell by Squat private Bob Regis, the demonic tide from of gothic hell has been exerting such a dimensional pressure that a series of supernatural disorders has been taking place all over Negromundheim.

Forces are being sent out by all the major nations to keep tight control on those phenomena, sometimes resulting in clashes, as even facing extinction, they cannot leave their rivalries aside.

In this preliminary episode of the war against Gothic Hell, the allied forces of New Heldon and the Squat Consortium were to investigate the reported appearance of a cabalistic monolith deep within the radioactive jungle. To do so, they were to cross territories under Worm and Skaviet domination.

The Squats, who were to join forces with the New Helder in the supposedly abandoned city of Sled, only found an opposing force of worms.

The Squats hastily stormed their way through the Worm ranks in order to respect their time schedule.

Only then did they learn why the New Helder weren’t at the meeting point: rumours of NeoSoviet activity in the region had been reported and the Helder decided to speed up their advance and head to the final destination straight away..

Arriving from the north, the Helder faced heavy resistance when they crossed a village that wasn't (understandably) on their maps.

A fierce battle took place in the sandy paths of the village as a force of mutant rats was determined to defend their territory

Meanwhile, the Squats were crossing the jungle, fighting their way against the vicious Skaviets.

After many casualties and acts of bravery, the allied forces emerged victorious and masters of the village and its surroundings.

After further investigation, they learnt more about what was going on in there. Apparently, even they had underestimated the situation, as some fights had obviously occurred before they arrived. A bunch of survivors from a Star & Moon expedition then testified it.

Apparently, the NeoSoviet politburo was there first, and attempted to explore the infernal temple, which the Star & Moon soldiers referred to as the "Zoubizou Temple", because of the strange "Zoubizou! Zoubizou!" noise the disgusting cherubs that flew out of it made.

The Neosovs were killed to the last man by the Zoubizous, which, despite their deceiving appearance, were powerful mind-controlling demons.

That confirmed the heavy suspicions bearing on Neo Soviet underground diplomacy, as it was now nearly undisputable that the politburo had contacts with the Skaviets, who must have warned them of the appearance of the monolith, and opposed unusual resistance against other factions.

But those special arrangements with the mutants, although unthinkable to most humans on Negromundheim, were nothing compared to what New Dawn League strategists now suspected… What if the Politburo had in mind to have a deal with hell itself ?
