First Day Report

Three games were played during the first day of the Iron Dream Tournament: a three-player "major game" and two "minor" one-on-ones. All were played using ShockForce/WarEngine 2nd Edition.

Major game (2500 points per player)

Three armies were involved in this first major event which will decide the fate of Negromundheim:

  • A Squat army, led by ChronoHal
  • A Neo-Soviet army, led by Kommander Hého
  • A Redneck army, led by NecroButcher From Gothic Hell.

The three armies were deployed in a typically Negromundheim-esque battlefield (ruined concrete buildings, rubbish dumps, a statue of Über-Diktator Zugrub Oomifrind, etc) using a triangular configuration - their ultimate goal: absolute control over the tabletop (ie controlling most of the table quarters).

That first game lasted six turns, at the end of which the Rednecks emerged victorious ; the squat player finished second, and the Neo-sov player third.

First minor game (1000 points per player)

In an apocalyptic one-on-one genocide, a little mob of ork freebooterz opposed three squads of Doom Space Marines armed with the finest weapons that humanity can provide to their saviours ; this game saw the victory of the space marines with the last surviving greenskins wetting their pants in panic before the wrath of Humanity's best. They shouldn't have killed the rabbit.

Second minor game (1000 points per player)

Another stupid genocide - but is it possible to commit a genocide in a intellectual way? Well, on second thought, yes - where the same ork mob faced this time a horde of neo-soviets rad troopers led by their evil national-communist officers. Cowardly hiding under cover, the hideous neo-sovs fragged their way through the Ork horde and triumphed.

At the end of the day, with all the yet-unmentioned bonuses added, the ranks were the following:

  • NBFGH, 41pts
  • Kommander Hého, 34pts
  • ChronoHal, 29pts
