NeoSoviet Force Structure
The Neo Soviet Empire is thought to be the most populated nation on Negromundheim, maybe because, as the Party propaganda puts it, "it has chosen to offer its benevolent protection to the greatest number, without discrimination".
Originally founded by ex-Imperial officers who turned into competent demagogues to save their bacons after the Great Cataclysm, it has grown so fast that it is now difficult to keep tight control over it, and ensure food and protection for everybody. The empire is therefore constantly hard-pressed and hungry for land, men, weapons, and new ways to wage war, on the cheap if possible. In spite of its difficulties to feed its citizen and even its soldiers, the empire invests most of its resources in the military and imports lots of vehicles and weapons ; it is even said that it has now built its own research and manufacturing facilities.
The Federal Army is an impressive but heavy structure. The Party endoctrinment leaves little initiative to the individual, save to those most clever, fierce and dedicated comrades who made it to the rank of officer ; the Neo-Soviet Army therefore has the reputation of a mass of poorly trained soldiers led by a handful of tough as nail officers and elites – which it actually is, although that may vary from one division to another.
